Hay Auction Rules & Terms

Sellers

  1. Bring your hay and stack in designated area
  2. Mark you lot with a lot tag found in the front of the office
  3. Seller is responsible for the hay till it is sold
  4. Piles are subject to inspection for quality
  5. Seller CHECKS are MAILED the next business day following the auction
  6. Seller checks under $20.00 will have a $3.00 handling fee
  7. Any party caught doing "side deals" will be trespassed from the site
  8. Commission Rates - (Per Bale Price)
    • ​​​​​​​Less than $1.99 = 20%
    • $2.00-$99.99 = 15%
    • $100.00 + = 10%

Buyers

  1. Buyer is responsible for hay at conclusion of the auction
  2. All sales must be paid for the night of the auction
  3. All purchased hay must be removed by the Sunday evening following auction
  4. No buyer premium
  5. All trailers must be returned by noon Friday 
  6. All buyers responsible for condition and quality of item(s) prior to bidding. Homestead Sales Inc. offers no guarantees on any item(s)

Big Bale Unloading & Loading

  1. Unloading & loading of big bales is available

Payment

  1. Cash accepted
  2. Checks accepted, Returned check fee $30
  3. Credit Cards accepted, 4% service fee charge

Security

  1. Site is video monitored & recorded 24/7
  2. No loading or unloading after 10:00 pm
